Ingredients (Serves 3 - 4 people)
2 cups of cold water

Heat the oil in the wok then add the chopped onions, garlic and ginger, cashew nuts and split peas. When the onions are brown, add the thali mix and the chopped chilli. Stir until seeds are cooked, then add the turmeric and salt. Add the water and wait until it boils, then immediately add the semolina by sieving it through your fingers. Immediately stir continuously until mixture is thick. Put a lid on the pan and leave for a few minutes to set. Your upma is ready to serve.
